What If I Have No Gallbladder?
Some people have had
their gallbladder removed. As mentioned, gallstones are the result of
bile. Bile is produced in the liver and stored in the gallbladder.
The liver produces bile to help break down and digest food, particularly
fat. If you have no gallbladder the liver still produces bile. Bile pooling
in your liver will cause gallstones to form in the liver, thereby partially
blocking the liver which leads to a variety of health issues. Gallstones
have been known to reduce the abilities of the liver by up to 50%.
